How are your personal data processed?
General information on the purposes of data processing
We primarily process personal data in order to make available information about our products and services and to meet our contractual obligations to our customers.
We provide a variety of services which involve processing personal data. It is not possible for us to describe every detail of every type of processing. This is why we are giving you the essential information about data processing.
We primarily process data in order to meet our contractual obligations to our customers and users. Apart from that, we process your data for the purposes of our legitimate interests, taking into consideration your interests. In many cases, we are legally obliged to process data (for example, to provide data to investigating authorities). In all other cases, we obtain separate consent from you to your data being processed (for example, in smart home applications).

These are data that we obtain directly from you and information that you enter or submit on Viega websites and microsites, such as:

- Access details for portals and applications (for example, user name and password)
- News, newsletter subscription, participation in events

Who has access to your data?

Terms used in our privacy policy
Viega: A company in the Viega Group that provides a service to a customer or potential customer. Unless otherwise stated, this refers to Viega GmbH & Co. KG.
Viega Group: All the companies in the Viega Group, regardless of whether or not they have Viega in their name.
Data privacy manager: The person responsible for the Viega Group's data protection management system.
Data privacy officer: The person designated for one or more companies in accordance with Article 37 GDPR who performs the tasks described in Article 39 GDPR.
GDPR: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
Personal data: In accordance with Article 4 (1) GDPR, any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
Profile: Viega platforms where the personal data entered by users are stored, displayed or otherwise processed.
Cookies: Small files that allow us to provide you, the user, with specific information that is relevant to you on your end device. You can block the storage of cookies via your browser settings.
Profiling: In accordance with Article 4 (4) GDPR, any form of automated processing of personal data consisting of the use of personal data to evaluate certain personal aspects relating to a natural person, in particular to analyse or predict aspects concerning that natural person's performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behaviour, location or movements.
Newsletters: Newsletters, status emails and adverts for our own similar products and services or our own market research surveys.
Third country: A country outside the EU and the EEA.

Viega YouTube channel
When you visit the "Viega Group" YouTube channel, we collect the following personal data in order to communicate with users and potential customers who are active on the channel and to inform them about Viega.
Account data
Interacting with Viega on the Viega YouTube channel requires a YouTube user account. To create an account, you must provide personal data.
Category
Your Google account data or data from your own channel account:
- First name, last name
- Mobile number or email address
- Username
- Other data that you disclose about yourself in your profile, e.g. profile photo
Disclosure
Any comments that you leave on videos, together with your user name and any profile photo, are public and can be seen by anyone who watches that video. You can decide whether and to what extent your personal data can be seen by others viewing your profile by going to your channel account settings and configuring the information that you share.
Storage period
Your visible account data are deleted when you change your account's privacy settings.
Legal basis
The legal basis for processing your personal data is our legitimate interest (Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Information that you share with us
When using the applicant portal, we collect the personal data described below:

User Account
A user account allows you to apply for jobs, to be found by Viega Human Resources employees (recruiters) or to be informed about new job postings. If you apply to Viega once, it is not necessary to create a user profile.
You determine the visibility for recruiters yourself. Notification of new job postings is voluntary. Both can be changed in your account at any time.

Disclosure
You determine the visibility for recruiters yourself. You have the option to allow your profile to be viewed by any recruiter of Viega Group companies worldwide, only recruiters from the country of residence that or only recruiters who recruit for positions you have applied for; with the last setting, your profile is invisible as long as you do not apply for a position. When allowing recruiters from Viega companies based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) to view your data, Viega will ensure that your data is processed in accordance with the GDPR requirements at all times.
Storage period
Your data will be stored for as long as your user account exists. If you delete your user account, all your information will also be deleted. User accounts that are in an active application process are exempt from this. For these accounts, the conditions for applicant data apply. Deletion or blocking of the registration data will result in the software no longer being usable.
Legal basis
The legal basis for the creation of a user account is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). As soon as you apply for a job, the legal basis for processing your personal data changes to the initiation of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR),

To apply via the Viega applicant portal, the upload of the CV/Resume is required. In addition, The uploaded CV data is extracted by the system and transferred into a structured form, so-called "CV parsing". Viega collects the e-mail address and other data to contact you.
After creating a user account, you can also place your profile in our talent pool for a longer period of time.

The legal basis for this processing of personal data is the initiation of a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) or, in the case of storage in the talent pool, your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
Information that we transfer to others
We cannot provide all our services without the help of third parties. Whenever we allow your information to be processed by third parties, this is on the basis of a data processing contract. This ensures that the company responsible for processing the data complies with the data protection standards that you have been promised. If your application does not match an advertised position, but we should consider you for a suitable position or Viega finds your profile exciting but does not have any vacancies for you, your data can be saved in Talentry's talent pool. You decide for yourself whether the storage should take place in Talentry. Up to your decision your data is stored encrypted and not visible to anyone. Talenty is a software as a service solution.

Once you have chosen for inclusion in the talent pool, your data will be stored for one year or until you cancel it. You can extend the storage period by a further year.

Various external recruiting service providers
In some cases, we use external service providers as part of the application process, who carry out job interviews and assessment centers for us. Your application documents will be sent to them.

ViegaShow

This specific Privacy Policy is a supplement to the General Viega Privacy Policy (https://www.viega.com/en/meta/footer/privacy.html) for the use of ViegaShow.
ViegaShow based on Showpad platform is an offering Products and Services mainly in the field of sales enablement / guided selling that measure, analyse and report on the engagement and behaviour of individuals with content being made available to them through the Products and Services (“Customer Content”), including “Showpad Content” (i.e. virtual human interactions for instance through online meetings). These Products and Services are offered under a “Software as a Service” model, which is a software licensing and delivery model in which software is centrally hosted and made available to multiple users over a network, including through interacting products (including front-end clients, apps, Web-Interface, plugins, or connectors to third-party applications).
Information that you share with us
ViegaShow is a platform to provide information to the customer, such as product information, brochures and assets. Next to providing information, we use ViegaShow to analyse user behaviour to get more information about users and their interest in the Viega content. Based on this information, we will be create some kind of reports.

The legal basis for this processing of the account data is the legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 letter f GDPR) in operating only error-free and secure products. The legal basis for the processing of protocol data is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 letter a GDPR).

You can create employee accounts and store your employees' personal data. Your employees are given access to ViegaShow with the assigned user name and the e-mail address specified for the employee. Additional information about the employees, such as their position in the company or a photo, can be provided voluntarily.
